Corals around Keppel Island nearby are carefully harvested and grown in a nursery before being transplanted onto artificial reefs at the waterfront precinct.

These reef enhancement structures also serve as fish-aggregating devices that will help to improve natural coral growth. The effort has been a success after a underwater survey found fishes such as the monocle bream, orange-spotted rabbitfish, pipefish and copperband butterfly fish flitting around the transplanted corals – signs of a healthy reef environment.

Besides the rich variety of fishes, other marine life such as jellyfish, seahorse, sea slug and sea anemone can also be found.

As part of the conservation of marine life, boat owners at Keppel Bay are encouraged to use biodegradable washing liquids and detergents when cleaning their vessels. Fishing is also not allowed. All these measures are part of Keppel’s City Reef project that aims to nurture a kaleidoscope of marine life. A healthy marine ecosystem will help to make the water clearer by filtering away pollutants while attracting more marine life and make it biologically productive. The Reef At King’s Dock Prices

During the launch on 30 Jan 2021,  the developers Mapletree Investments and Keppel Land sold 280 out of  the 300 units released, representing 93% of released units being sold. Benefits From The Development of Greater Southern Waterfront

The Reef At King’s Dock is situated within the Greater Southern Waterfront, which will stretch over 30km of coastline and covers an area of 2,000 hectares from Marina East to Pasir Panjang. This will be about six times the size of Marina Bay and it is poised to become the most sought-after location to live, work and play. This will be achieved through the following:

Sentosa-Brani Master Plan

Under the Sentosa-Brani Master Plan, there will be a comprehensive redevelopment of Sentosa and Pulau Brani into a “game-changing leisure and tourism destination”. This is also part of the government’s plan to remake the Greater Southern Waterfront, which can only benefit The Reef At King’s Dock due to the increased buzz and vibrancy it will bring to the area.

The Sentosa-Brani master plan will be implemented in phases over the next two to three decades. The first will be the construction of a 30,000 sq m Sensoryscape. The $90 million project, expected to be completed in 2022, will be about the size of 5.5 football fields. It will connect Resorts World Sentosa in the north to Sentosa’s southern beaches. Comprising a two-tiered walkway, Sensoryscape will have features that stimulate the five senses – such as textured surfaces and plants that respond to touch, a water feature with the sound of cascading water, and visually striking giant flower stalks framing the sides of the thoroughfare.

As part of the larger master plan, Sentosa and Pulau Brani will be redeveloped according to five zones that will provide visitors different experiences with their unique characteristics. These five zones are:

Vibrant Cluster – A festive and attraction zone, it will feature large attractions and an outdoor performance space
Island Heart – At the centre of the entire development, it will have both indoor and outdoor attractions, with views of Mount Serapong
Waterfront – The city-facing Waterfront, which will be located closest to the main Singapore island, will retain its port architecture to commemorate its port heritage
Ridgeline – For nature lovers, it will offer nature and heritage attractions connecting Mount Faber, Pulau Brani, Mount Serapong and Mount Imbiah to Fort Siloso
Beachfront – It will have water-themed attractions for families
In addition to the above, there will be night attractions with customised digital exhibitions and light events based on the five zones. Transport network will also be enhanced to ensure greater accessibility throughout the developments.

Downtown South – Upcoming Theme Park Beside Sentosa

Pulau Brani will be transformed under the Sentosa-Brani master plan into an entertainment and lifestyle destination. A container port located just beside Sentosa, it will be will be renamed Downtown South where new attractions similar to Universal Studios on Sentosa will be built. This was announced by Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong at his 2019 National Day Rally and is part of the remaking of the Greater Southern Waterfront.

Besides the attractions, there will also be new waterfront promenade and nature trails that will connect to Mount Faber and other nearby nature parks to create a green corridor. Under consideration is a plan to erect a barrage around Pulau Brani to form another reservoir, not unlike the Marina Barrage. If realised, it will offer another destination for water sports enthusiasts to participate in activities such as kayaking, canoeing and water paddling.

The Rail Corridor & Tanjong Pagar Railway Station Redevelopment

The Tanjong Pagar Railway Station will be conserved for its heritage value and redeveloped into a multi-functional community space as part of the revamp of the Rail Corridor stretching from Kranji to Tanjong Pagar. It is just 4 bus-stops from The Reef At King’s Dock and provides another interesting lifestyle destination for residents.

Under the winning proposal to redevelop the former railway station is a public park in front of it that will be named Station Green. It will be integrated with the entrance of the upcoming Circle Line Cantonment MRT station. Commuters emerging from the MRT station will be greeted by the conserved railway tracks of old. Other facilities would include an auditorium and art gallery. The entire project will be linked to the Rail Corridor, which is a 25-km “green lung” that passes through almost the entire length of Singapore, providing an oasis away from our urban environment.

The Rail Corridor is a former railway line that stretches 24km north to south of Singapore, linking the future Woodlands North Coast and Greater Southern Waterfront.

Conserved as a “green corridor”, it will be transformed into a community space that links 1 million people within 1km of the Rail Corridor. When connected by 2021, it will spur the development of surrounding lands and rejuvenation of older districts. The Rail Corridor will take visitors on a journey through a variety of nature parks, landscapes, communities and unique experiences. These will include new commercial, cultural and entertainment options.

Given its close proximity to The Reef At King’s Dock, it will add to the excitement in the area.

Keppel Distripark Redevelopment

The Keppel Distripark is a 15-minute walk from The Reef At King’s Dock. With the relocation of the Keppel, Brani and Tanjong Pagar container ports to the Tuas mega port ahead of schedule, they give further impetus to the transformation of the Greater Southern Waterfront. Along with the relocation of the ports, the plot of land currently occupied by the Keppel Distripark has been re-zoned.

Under the URA Master Plan, it is currently listed as “subject to detailed planning”. In URA lingo, this means the land use and plot ratio are still in the process of being finalised. Given the prime nature of the land which is beside the future Keppel MRT station and one stop from Harbourfront along the Circle Line, it is likely to be zoned for mixed-use to provide a more dynamic use of the prime land. Fascinating Nature Recreation – The Southern Ridges

Mount Faber is part of the Southern Ridges, which also comprises Telok Blangah Hill Park, HortPark, Kent Ridge Park and Labrador Nature Reserve. It can be easily reached by taking the cable car at Harbourfront Tower 2, a 3-minute walk from The Reef At King’s Dock. Alternatively, it takes a mere 4-minute drive to the Cable Car Station.

Mount Faber is one of the oldest parks in Singapore that is popular with locals and tourists. Visitors can gaze through the telescopes at one of the many lookout points that are situated at various sides of the ridge for a panoramic view of the southern part of Singapore and the southern islands. They can also learn about Singapore’s natural heritage at Faber Point, the highest point in the park, where a mural wall depicts scenes of local historical events.

Telok Blangah Hill Park is a 6-minute drive from The Reef At King’s Dock. It is connected to Mount Faber Park via the Henderson Waves Bridge. This 274m long structure is the highest pedestrian bridge in Singapore, and is frequently visited for its artistic and distinctive wave-like structure consisting of a series of undulating curved ‘ribs’. it is a very popular place for taking wedding photos due to its beautiful gardens and landscaping.

Telok Blangah Hill Park is linked to HortPark by the Forest Walk – a 1.3-kilometre-long elevated walkway through the secondary forest. Continuing westward, trekkers will pass through Bukit Chandu where they can relive the history of World War II at the “Reflections At Bukit Chandu” museum. Heading further west is the historical Kent Ridge Park, the place where one of the last battles for Singapore was fought during World War II.

Labrador Park – A Natural Sanctuary

Labrador Park forms part of the Southern Ridges. It is just two MRT stations from The Reef At King’s Dock. After alighting at the Labrador Park MRT station, the Belayer Creek boardwalk will lead visitors into the nature reserve. The walk, which will take about 15 minutes, meanders through a mangrove eco-system.

Labrador Park has been designated a Nature Reserve where many historical relics and natural artifacts from the Second World War are found. They were left behind by the former British army that unsuccessfully defended Singapore against the Japanese invasion.

Featuring stunning cliff side views of the sea, it offers picturesque sights of the sea, lush forests and rich biodiversity. The Labrador Nature Reserve is home to 70 kinds of birds, 11 species of butterflies as well as numerous tree species. Nature lovers can explore the area via various nature trails, with one connecting to the Bukit Chermin Boardwalk and onwards to Reflections At Keppel Bay, which is a short walk from The Reef At King’s Dock.
